FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Detailed, honest answers regarding our in-feed detection engine, privacy guarantees, probabilistic limitations, and account management.

What is AI Feed Lens?

AI Feed Lens is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge that automatically detects and classifies LinkedIn posts in real time. It displays unobtrusive badges directly inside your feed indicating whether a post exhibits synthetic AI writing patterns or authentic human variance.

How does AI Feed Lens work?

As you scroll your LinkedIn feed, our lightweight content script identifies visible post text and evaluates it across computational linguistics metrics including perplexity variance, burstiness (sentence rhythm), and formulaic AI rhetorical tropes.

Does AI Feed Lens work on LinkedIn?

Yes. AI Feed Lens is purpose-built specifically for LinkedIn desktop feeds (standard feed, company updates, and article shares) on modern Chromium browsers.

Does AI Feed Lens work in Chrome?

Yes. We offer an official extension built on Manifest V3 for Google Chrome, compatible with Chrome version 116 and higher.

Does AI Feed Lens work in Edge?

Yes. AI Feed Lens fully supports Microsoft Edge on Windows and macOS, taking advantage of Chromium architecture and sleeping tab optimizations.

Does AI Feed Lens read my private messages?

No. Absolutely not. The extension has zero access to your LinkedIn messaging inbox, connection requests, notifications, or account credentials. It only evaluates public post text that appears in your main feed.

Does AI Feed Lens store LinkedIn posts?

No. Public post text is evaluated in ephemeral memory for lexical analysis and is immediately discarded. We do not store LinkedIn post text or build databases of user content.

How accurate is AI detection?

AI detection is probabilistic, not forensic proof. While our model detects clear stylistic markers (homogeneous sentence lengths, low vocabulary entropy, cliché listicles) with over 95% confidence on long samples, short posts or heavily human-edited AI drafts naturally exhibit borderline metrics.

Can AI-written text be edited by a human to look human?

Yes. When a human writer significantly revises an AI draft—inserting personal anecdotes, irregular punctuation, and idiosyncratic phrasing—the burstiness increases, and the text may be classified as human written.

Can human-written text be incorrectly classified (False Positive)?

Yes. Highly structured corporate press releases, repetitive formal announcements, or formulaic compliance notices can sometimes exhibit low variance and trigger false positives. We provide confidence scores to help users interpret results critically.

What does 'AI Written' mean?

The 'AI Written' badge indicates that the post text exhibits low token perplexity, uniform sentence lengths, and repetitive transition formulas characteristic of modern generative language models.

What does 'Human Written' mean?

The 'Human Written' badge indicates that the text exhibits high lexical burstiness, irregular rhythmic pacing, natural colloquialisms, or specific domain experiences characteristic of organic human craft.

Can I use AI Feed Lens for free?

Yes. Every registered user receives 50 free post scans every day forever. Upgrading to our Pro tier unlocks unlimited in-feed scans and detailed lexical breakdowns.

How do I install the extension?

Visit our Chrome or Edge extension page, click 'Add to Browser', and pin the extension icon to your browser toolbar. Sign in to your account, and in-feed badges will appear automatically on LinkedIn.

How do I remove the extension?

You can remove AI Feed Lens at any time by right-clicking the extension icon in your browser toolbar and selecting 'Remove from Chrome' or 'Remove from Edge'.
